Let us recall our remote or not so remote teenager past. It is very
likely to be associated with cheap movie posters hanging on the walls,
doors and wherever else our young imagination was able to find a place.
It was very much disapproved by our parents, but what can stop an eager
young person in his teens from doing what he or she wants, and even more
persistently once it has been prohibited? Scary movie posters, by the
way, were usually hung outside the room in order to intimidate whoever
decides to trespass the boundaries of our private area.
However, the evidence of the today's rush to buy movie
posters has proved that movie
posters can
be admired and wanted by all age groups. Cinema is a way to rise above
the mundane daily harass. It creates alternative reality with its
division for heroes with positive and negative charisma. It classifies
people, life circumstances, problems, pursuits and desires. Hence it
appears to be much easier to live in the universe developing on the
other side of the silver screen.
We buy movie posters to
reproduce the atmosphere of the alien world, to have a chance to see
our favouite film stars and even to cover the blankness of the walls
with something more message-conveying. We have never probably attempted
to think how much time we have to look at those white, blue and yellow
walls. At the same time, original movie posters are probably the
cheapest and the fastest way to introduce some change into the
repetitive pattern of the wallpaper |
